Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum & not a mechanic but do have some common sense & mechanical skills, anyway my 2007 700 XP will crank over but not start, it has 190 hrs. I'm 2nd owner. Voltage is 12.8. I have a 2010 Polaris rzr 800 that will crank over but won't start. It ran and started perfectly fine and then went to start it one day and all it would do is crank. Got home that night and it was pouring rain so I left it sit out in trailer overnight.

The only thing that appears to be getting power is the fuel pump. I pulled a plug and it appeared to have spark. I sprayed ether in the intake and it started and ran for about 1 second. Because its hard to drive and spray started fluid at the same time I need to go further.

RACE TECH : That is your fuel pump relay. Switch the 2 relays out and see if your getting power now. Could also be a ground issue. Check your battery voltage and connections. RACE TECH : 56 - Pump Relay: Open Load. 56 - Pump Relay: Short Circuit to Ground. 56 - Pump Relay: Short Circuit to Battery.
4. Took the Ranger on 2-3 mile 40mph cruise to try to get fresh fuel into it. 5. Starting cycling the fuel pump (key to first position but not cranking) twice before trying to start. 6. Added Battery Tender since voltage on dash display dipped to 10.8 or so when cranking (I really don't know if this is normal or not).

It cranks over as it should. sounds smooth. fuel pump cuts in and builds up pressure on the pump itself and on the fuel rack where the injectors are located. If you have a charger, hook it up to the battery and turn it on and try to start it again. If it starts, you still have a weak battery. Lift the seat, turn the key on and listen for a high pitched whining noise coming from the tank. If it's working the sound will only last a couple of seconds until the fuel pressure builds up and the relay cuts it off.
